INTERNSHIP TRAINING

After passing final professional MBBS examination students have to enroll for one year log book based rotatory internship program. Within this one year 11 months and 15 days at medical college hospital and 15 days at UHC. Internship program will be more structured and supervised. It is compulsory to complete Internship Training Program designed by BM&DC to get permanent registration for doing independent practice.

The training is mainly designed to develop necessary skills and attitudes to deal with common health problems generally encountered in hospital and in community. This is structured and strictly supervised. The trainees will be entitled to appropriate subsistence allowance/ honorarium. The internship training is compulsory and a pre-requisite for obtaining registration from Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council.

The training consists of:

• 19 weeks training in Medicine & Allied subjects.

• 19 weeks training in Surgery & Allied subjects.

• 14 weeks training in Gynae & Obstetrics & Family Planning.
